[Ardyn had enough presence of mind to dodge the flying coffee mug, but...that was horrible even by his standards. He didn't know that girl--only knew what Church had told him--but it still hurt. It hurt to know things had escalated again, that every last one of them might be dead now because of some complete lunatic losing what was left of his mind.]

...Leonard. [First things first. He reached out to grab Church's wrist, intent on stopping him from destroying anything even if it meant taking a punch himself.] Not here--let's go outside if you want to break something.

[When he's grabbed, his free hand reels back, ready to punch, until his wild eyes land on Ardyn.]

Here's as good as any fucking where else! [He tries to pull his wrist out of Ardyn's grip.] Now they might all fucking die just because he killed--she's not an "it", she's just a woman trying to do the right thing! And now they're all de--they're all dy--the fuck is wrong with him?!

We don't know that they're dead yet. [Ardyn's voice was calm, but his hand was shaking with silent fury as he kept his hold on Church's wrist. They didn't know, but that didn't change whatever the result had been. In fact, not knowing almost felt worse at this point.]

[Blaze better have been dead by now, or Ardyn was going to kill him himself.]

I don't know where Jamie is right now, but shouting at him in the middle of the night is no way to get the answers we're going to need.

[Ardyn didn't let go yet, sharply focused. He was furious himself but this was different; it was tightly controlled, showing only in his eyes and the ironclad determination in his voice.]

I need you to realize this, Leonard. Anger like this is dangerous. You can vent it, you can break things--but you have to make sure that when you focus it on someone, the right person is on the other end.

[He finally dropped his hand from Church's wrist, bright yellow eyes watching him carefully.]

[Ardyn glanced away and sighed, folding his arms. Church deserved to feel anger and fury, and taking it from him was something Ardyn wouldn't dare to try. But at the same time...it scared even Ardyn of all people, who struggled so hard to keep his temper in check because he knew rage was the worst kind of double-edged sword, the kind of thing that could destroy everything if not focused properly.]

[But focused or not, it wasn't wrong to be felt all the same.]
