After Xander requested the return of the 'dead' Champions from both seasons of the twisted reality show they'd wound up in, C.E.C.E. had apologized and explained that all but one of the losing contestants from Jamison's round had already been transported elsewhere and repurposed. For what, she couldn't say, as even the Ultimate Paladin didn't have that sort of clearance. But he had earned his prize, she'd said, and the ex-Champions would be returned as per his request.

It had taken some doing to figure out how to wake them up, as Xander had forgotten to ask for them to be disconnected from the simulation (after all, there was nothing to restore them from, they were perfectly fine!), in the end, everyone was glad for Yurika and the Doctor's experience with advanced technology. The newly awoken 'ex-Champions' were disoriented at first, as they hadn't had the warning the others had had before their surroundings changed. There were still more questions to answer, still more people to rescue...but everyone who had spent the past month and a half suffering for the entertainment of the masses was alive. And wasn't that worth a celebration?
