Viewing Party 2 - R3: THE RE-CRY-ENING

We got castmates. We got clues. We got crap to bitch about. They get a library? And a LAUNDRY MACHINE?

Welcome, murderfam... TO THE R3 LIVEWATCH.

Speaking as one of the supposedly-dead people in question, I'm at just as much a loss as any of you. Especially considering that perhaps even my soul itself would likely have been in a...questionable state, now that I think of it.

[ she takes a swallow of her mystery drink and grimaces before speaking. if only there were actual wine in here!! ]

Questionable?

Ah--how to put this simply. 'Corrupted' is the most straightforward term, but opens up a long list of questions.

There's also something to be said for theories of what defines a 'soul' as an actual entity versus a concept defining one's conscious thought, but in my case it's decidedly the former.

[Lucian kings were kind of weird like that.]

The point being that if what defines my soul were to be transferred to this replicated body, that corruption potentially should have gone with it, and yet here we are with nothing of the sort.

I understand.

[ i mean, she probably doesn't really, but you live and you learn! she looks down at the palm of her non-mugged hand. ]

It make no difference what the soul's nature be -- it defines us before any else. I should no more have gained mine back, were this body of their workings.

[...finally, someone who talks almost normally]

Perhaps the question of 'how' is not by necessity one to prioritize, yet...it does warrant being addressed. The channeling of souls long past is a practice not unheard of in my world, but entirely relocating one to a new form is well beyond that. It leads me to wonder of the true capabilities of those we find ourselves fighting against.

Aye, for me too.

Or I mean to say... perhaps I should not understand, even if they told all to our faces, but I think I can see how much it is they do. [ And how disproportionate it is for their apparent aims. Or is she just underestimating this strange new world around her once again? ] Did you ever know of any who might do such as this, in your own land?

No--certainly not to this extent. The channeling I refer to is far different; we can not transplant souls into other forms or anything of the sort. Whatever their powers, they are toying with things beyond even my reach of truly comprehending.

And if you mean 'this' in a more general sense, I'm quite certain the grander plan of orchestrating such things as entertainment isn't a practice I am remotely familiar with.
