[It seems a little sad to Arianna, if she's being honest, which she is pretty much all the time. She'd been envisioning something like Guild Starlight, where they were essentially always together. But it was a different kind of situation, wasn't it? However superficially similar it might seem.

Ah, yes, Yuki, the one she still only knows by reputation.]

What sort of things did a "fun school life" involve?

... Things like... still going to class and doing her best to learn. Making sure we kept up with club activities. Whenever we were lost and we didn't know how to move forward, Yuki-chan always came up with something, somehow. Even if it was something silly like a test of courage or wanting to go on a field trip. Somehow, no matter what she did she always pointed us in the right direction. Like a light in the dark.

[ ah. that's familiar phrasing, isn't it? ]

[Sure is!

But... Arianna has other questions on her mind that don't actually relate to whether she's as good of a Yuki as actual Yuki.]

Rii-san, what is a "field trip," precisely?

[serrata]

Oh, hm. Did you not have those back in your world? Well, I suppose if your schools were different, you might not have...

[ She gives a thoughtful little hum, wondering how best to approach the explanation. ]

What was your school like?

I never attended a school. My education was handled by tutors who came to the palace.

[Yuuri did you forget your siste r was a princess]

Ah, so you never would've had to sit in a classroom with other students, would you? Did your tutors ever take you anywhere for your lessons, though? Or were they just in the palace?

[DON'T TALK TO HER ABOUT LORD NOCTIS HE PROBABLY HAD A FREEZER AND A TOILET

She thinks for a moment.]

On occasion. The astrologers preferred to remain in their observatory, for instance, and it was deemed less disruptive for me to visit there than to call them away.

Then that sort of thing would've been a 'field trip'. Since we had all our lessons in the same building, it was always a big event when we got to leave and visit somewhere else. Usually it was something to do with whatever lesson the teacher who was taking us taught. Our history teacher took us on a trip to see some of the shrines around our city -- that sort of thing.

[daughterofthemark]

Ah! Then you all went on trips to learn things together. Like little adventures.

[She's picturing tiny Rii-san and friends all dressed up as explorers. It's so cute!]

And Dame Yuki would plan these excursions.

[serrata]

Something like that. We couldn't go very far and not all that often but somehow Yuki-chan always seemed to know when we needed something like that. Something fun and silly, just to keep our minds off things.

Then perhaps that is what I must do. Plan a group outing.

[serrata]

[ That surprises a soft laugh out of her. We're on a good roll today, it seems. ]

You think so? It does sound like the sort of thing we need right now. To take our mind off of things.

There must be some place we can go that has nothing to do with Airlocked! or anything of the sort.

Well, that's the challenge, isn't it? But I trust you to come up with something. And then you'll have to surprise us with it when we're least expecting it.

If you get really, really stuck, of course I'll help you. But I think you'll probably be able to pull this off by yourself.
