Ah... the delivery skits are? We've done those a couple times in the past - I've even done one! Though usually we use Aesop's Fables and they're not so morbid...

The ending in accidental stabbing part though is um...

Is there any particular reason? Or-- or are they just trying to lift the mood a bit?

I think lifting the mood is what they're attempting to do... it was probably Osomatsu-niisan's idea, and then Karamatsu went along with it.

These skits... they don't all end in 'accidents' like that, do they?

[ it sounds like the sort of running gag that a comedy anime would milk for every last drop ]

No. Usually they end in like... a way that's kinda anti-climatic or sad.

Like... you know the story of the crane that comes to see the old man to repay it after he saved its life?

That's sort of defeating the point if you're trying to lighten the mood though, isn't it?
