i. arrival

[Ugh, what are these clothes?

That's probably a silly first thing to be upset about. Once Michael thinks about it, obviously this whole thing is frankly bizarre. Did he piss someone off, is this a weird prank? But he's still looking very unhappy in his Champion unitard as he wanders the halls, not bothering to talk to anybody.

You may find him staring up at the profiles. All of that seems super wrong! Maybe whoever put it together saw his Architect game? That's handy for him. They could've left out some of the more incriminating stuff, but he can work with this - he flashes an uneasy grin.]

Boy, this is weird, huh?

ii. space demon

[He's polite and friendly enough, if a little odd. Very early in the week, you can definitely find him sitting in the dining room, laying his head down on the table. It looks like he's feeling ill?

Later on, he'll be idly gliding around in the zero-gravity room, for all the world as if he's lived without gravity his entire life. After that, he spends a while in the art room, painting what turns out to be a very good picture of some trees and flowers. After regains start, he'll eventually be swanning around in his suit and bowtie. That's more like it!]

iii. crime scene

Huh.

[Michael raises his eyebrows as he looks down at the body. He doesn't seem impressed. Standing clear of the blood, yes, but why on earth would he want to get that on his shoes?]

Yeah, that's dead. They probably got him in the liver, there.

[He gestures idly at the stab wound. Looks like you've got your body toucher.]

That's a messy job.

iv. deadland

[There's no Florida here. When you die, you find yourself in a sunny green little village. It's an idyllic place: cobblestone streets, bright colored little shops - a lot of which seem to sell frozen yogurt - and plenty of fountains and flowers.

It's big enough that you might not come across anybody right away. But Michael always knows where to go looking. This is, after all, his Neighborhood.]

Hi! [He waves, smiling. It's a sharp blue suit today.] Welcome to the Neighborhood. I'm Michael. I'm very sorry about your recent death.

[Michael squints, looking the new guy up and down. Some kind of goth or something? He doesn't know all the human subcultures, but at the very least he can see the obvious aesthetic differences.]

I was going for very "traditional angel neighborhood" with this design. You know, a little obnoxious? [Although he's come to like it on this place, at least...well! He waves a hand.] No biggie. I'll consider that in your house!

Or your apartment, if you want! I make sure everyone's got a place to stay. It's a little more limited than the real afterlife would have been, but it must be hooked up to me somehow, I can work it alright.

[Hm. Now, despite all appearances, this place isn't quite like his Neighborhood. There, he always wiped the humans' memories of their deaths and dampened their emotions a little before waking them up. It helped keep them calm, let them accept that they'd passed and move on to their new existence - maybe it'd even been a little kind. Here, he can't do anything like that. He can still control aspects of their environment, but never any of the people.

At first he didn't really adjust his approach. Since then, he's been told that he needs to be more sympathetic and maybe not launch directly into practicalities. Everyone who shows up did just die traumatically and all. That's what he was trying there, when he offered his sympathies - and now they're moving on to housing after two seconds. So was that sufficient, or did he rush it again?]

['real afterlife' reminds him- oh yeah, he died! He doesn't remember it clearly. Obstagoon was snarling at someone and he turned to face them and-

-then quick sudden pain. He might be a decent trainer, but he was just a guy otherwise.]

[The hesitation there is, mostly, him wondering what the fuck Arceus is. Some god or another, no doubt.]

I was in the first group. We're the one that ended very badly, if you've heard of us - but I was here well before that happened. Only one of our dead to end up here, actually...I figure they just wanted my expertise. This isn't the first afterlife-type thing I've run.

[There's probably some intriguing stuff in the Champion Cutting Edge's profile, or maybe it's just kind of there. Who knows what demon priorities actually are. If nothing else, their shared "AGE: Yes" may be a point of conversation. Regardless, Penny's been playing the increasingly obvious fact that she's a robot pretty close to her chest.]

[But at the moment she's trying and failing to swim through the air. She's kind of drifting, trying to get up momentum towards a solid surface. Or maybe the ladder.]

[He grins; she's totally not. But even if he's evil - even if he does plan on killing one of these people once he gets bored enough - he hasn't done any harm to anyone these past few weeks. He gets accused at least once a trial anyway, since everyone knows he's a demon. It'll be easier to get away with his murder if he lets them get more comfortable.

In the meantime...he's decided that they really aren't so bad to talk to. Maybe he likes a few of them a little.]

It'd be easier if you pushed off something.
