Since we know a lot of people are ready and eager to start playing around in this setting, welcome to the official Airlocked Test Drive! For this test drive, we do have a posting format:

In the header of your comment, put your Character's Name and their Champion title. You don't have to put in the canon if you don't want, but you can if you feel the need.

And the guidelines we ask you to follow are, please try to include at least one prompt in your top-level to reply to, and if you make a top-level try to tag out to at least one other person. We want everyone to get a chance to give their choices a fair shake, after all.

Here are some examples to get you started:

A - Arrival
You wake up in a bed that's not your own, in a shiny chrome room that has bright fluorescent lights that light up along the floor as soon as your feet hit it and glowing sconces on the walls. Whether it's much different from what you're used to or not different at all, it's time to figure out where you are and more importantly, whether you're alone.

B - Mealtime
Well sweet, at least there's a cafeteria! But wait, it seems like there's only hot food during certain times of day. The rest of the time if you go foraging in the kitchen you can find weird silver packages with the name of food on the side that...definitely don't seem big enough to hold the food in question. If you open it up, it seems oddly dry...

C - Zero G
A zero gravity room! Awesome! The walls and floor are textured to give you something to hang onto to crawl across back to the control panel, but if you're floating in the middle of the room you might need someone to give you a push.

D - Holo Deck
A room where all your dreams come true. Kind of. In a photorealistic display of light and sound.

E - Anything else!

This is not an official reserve, nor does it guarantee a slot in the game, but if you do choose to app a character that you test drove, you can use two minimum 20-comment threads or one minimum 40-comment thread (so at least 20 total comments from your character) in place of writing a sample. So have fun with it!

[Camilla would defer to his wishes but this seems like someone probably should do something. She strides over towards him.]

Not until you tell me why you're here.

[His voice is thick in a way that would be familiar to her: sleepy and upset. After all, his nightmares are as always an issue... and he's been known to sleepwalk]

[Oh no. That's definitely not a good tone.]

You were having nightmares again.

How do you know that?!

[He yells, still upset and lashing out]

[She... seems a little shocked at the reaction but still relatively calm.]

I know how you get after you've had one, that's all.

I don't... I don't understand. Why would I tell some Nohrian about that?

[His anger is still there, but his tone is much more lost and confused then anything else. He knew Camilla claimed they knew each other personally in her memories but... that has to be a lie, right?]

[She doesn't say anything for a long time before pulling out something from her pocket. Camilla had been so glad to see it when the Benefactors gave it back. Now, though... She simply hands it over. It's a ring, clearly Hoshidan in design but embedded with a gem that's found more commonly in Nohr.]

I know you don't remember it but I would be a poor woman if I didn't try to get to know the man who proposed to me.

[He cups the jewelry in his hand, gawking at it like she just handed him a dead rat.]

I... what? But how? I wouldn't...

Want to marry a Nohrian?

[There's a reason why she never was clear on how they knew each other better!]

[He rolls the ring around his palm- looking at it, really looking at it, the design is exactly something he would have made for a woman he loved. And the stone, while not something he would have picked normally, is a shade that would perfectly compliment Camilla's beautiful hair and eyes...

Hate it as he might, but she's not lying. There's no way she could pull something like this off without knowing his sense of aesthetics much too deeply

He holds his hand out, the ring sitting on his palm to return to her]

[In her heart she knows that. That this man, even if he acted and looked like Takumi he wasn't the one she knew and loved. She sighed.]

I know but.. please don't ask me to act as if you're a stranger to me. I'll keep my distance but don't do that to me.

[She doesn't take back the ring, though.]

[If that pressure was still in his head he would have sneered at her. But it's not, and it's just Takumi. And hurt and angry he might be, he doesn't have it in him to be overtly cruel.]

...okay. But please, take it back. Someone that loves you had it made, right? You should have it.

[Slowly she takes it back, pocketing it so he doesn't have to see.]

Thank you, Prince Takumi. I do apologize that my words must have seemed like I was intruding in your space. I was still worried.

No, it's... it's alright. I wasn't exactly having fun in here or anything.

[It's so strange for someone outside his family and retainers to know. But he nods slowly]

I think I activated the room while asleep...

[She hadn't until after he proposed. It was simply something she had to know if they were to live together.]

[Kind of hard to share a bed with someone that kicked and whimpered and occasionally just got up and wandered away. At least he could make sure she knew before hand]

Honestly, I have no idea if what I saw was my dream or... whatever I had it show me. Maybe both.

[Her heart ached for him once more. Sometimes she had to sleep in a separate bed for that reason but Camilla couldn't blame him.]

Either way, there has to be a way to keep you in your room while you sleep.
