Since we know a lot of people are ready and eager to start playing around in this setting, welcome to the official Airlocked Test Drive! For this test drive, we do have a posting format:

In the header of your comment, put your Character's Name and their Champion title. You don't have to put in the canon if you don't want, but you can if you feel the need.

And the guidelines we ask you to follow are, please try to include at least one prompt in your top-level to reply to, and if you make a top-level try to tag out to at least one other person. We want everyone to get a chance to give their choices a fair shake, after all.

Here are some examples to get you started:

A - Arrival
You wake up in a bed that's not your own, in a shiny chrome room that has bright fluorescent lights that light up along the floor as soon as your feet hit it and glowing sconces on the walls. Whether it's much different from what you're used to or not different at all, it's time to figure out where you are and more importantly, whether you're alone.

B - Mealtime
Well sweet, at least there's a cafeteria! But wait, it seems like there's only hot food during certain times of day. The rest of the time if you go foraging in the kitchen you can find weird silver packages with the name of food on the side that...definitely don't seem big enough to hold the food in question. If you open it up, it seems oddly dry...

C - Zero G
A zero gravity room! Awesome! The walls and floor are textured to give you something to hang onto to crawl across back to the control panel, but if you're floating in the middle of the room you might need someone to give you a push.

D - Holo Deck
A room where all your dreams come true. Kind of. In a photorealistic display of light and sound.

E - Anything else!

This is not an official reserve, nor does it guarantee a slot in the game, but if you do choose to app a character that you test drove, you can use two minimum 20-comment threads or one minimum 40-comment thread (so at least 20 total comments from your character) in place of writing a sample. So have fun with it!

Nah. Been there. Wasn't impressed. Too many people and way too much noise. I like my forests are pristine as the day they came to be.

I can see why. [She perches on a log nearby, scooting back and smiling over at Nari.]

It's beautiful out here... and I'm interrupting your quiet, aren't I?

[She shakes her head, closing the book.]

I had a feeling that someone would come along eventually. At least you're not Mai. Kinda wanna deck her to be honest. Actually... I kind of want to deck quite a few people here.

[Temper temper]

Just needed to decompress for a bit, and this was the best place to do it. All those boring metal walls really drag on ya after a while.

[She nods sympathetically, brows furrowing a little bit like she's concentrating on something but then she laughs airily and the expression floats away.]

Everyone's just dealin in their own way, can't blame ya for getting frustrated but... [Softer, gentler.] Violence ain't gonna solve anythin.

[Except here maybe it would, she's trying her best not to dwell on that though.]

The way I usually deal with it is hiking, taking long walks, watching endless amounts of cat videos... anything but just sitting around and twiddling my thumbs. I'm going loco up in here.

[Heck, even a punching bag would be amazing to beat up on.]

I feel like I'm suffocating in this place... I thought space would be better than this. Hell, those astronauts back home make it look like a trip and a half.

[And she wishes she had her legilimency for the thousandth time so she could give the poor girl some measure of peace.]

Well it sounds like yer always up ta somethin so maybe you just need to wear yerself out, hmm?

[She had an idea and it was silly but maybe they all needed a little silliness right now. So she stands from where she'd been perched and steps over to Nari, grinning and mischievous.]

Yer. [A tap to her shoulder and a wink.] It.

[And she immediately dances a few steps away, tilting her head in a little challenge and to see if she's just going to be laughed at or if Nari is game for this ridiculousness]

It takes a moment for her to figure out what just happened. This... She's game! She's up rather quickly, aaaaand Queenie better run fast. This girl is no slowpoke.]

[Queenie is used to people taking themselves too seriously. Her sister does it constantly and this, cute ridiculous games from their childhood, was always an excellent way to make Tina unwind.

Of course she should have thought about her terrain a little more before she started this. After a few steps the delicate buckles on her heels unfasten themselves so she can step out of her shoes, which immediately rise to her hand, and run barefoot across the "forest" floor laughing the whole time.]

[Nari's steps faulter just for a moment as she sees that... did those shoes seriously just undo themselves and float? And here she though that the whole 'witch' thing was a joke.

This is so cool!!

She lets a laugh of her own escape. This was never a game she played even with her sister. They were close, but since there was an age gap, their games were always sit down games. So this? This is nice.

Still, she does catch up fairly quickly and taps Queenie on the back.] You're it!

[Which means Nari is the one to take off this time as the forest shifts around them to compensate by having some of the trees move out of their way.]

[Most of the time when they were children they were also playing with brooms and it made things distinctly more challenging. Never mind now as adults the dodging apparation that she would've needed her wand for. As far as just running goes she realizes very quickly that Nari has her out classed.]

Did you-? [Queenie spins on her heel, tilts her head a little at the shift of the trees. She hadn't realized the holodeck worked like that. Then again she wasn't terribly good with any of this technology.]

You!!! [High pitched and giggling as she started after Nari. It's very obvious from the way she runs that it's not something does often.]
